Bright red wines are the fresh light reds, food-friendly and versatile, perfect in the summer slightly chilled and at the Thanksgiving table, but have the seriousness to drink all year long.

Food Pairing and Preparation: Bright wines are food boundary- crossers, pairing beautifully with strong-flavored fishes, seared or smoked. Crustaceans. Cured meats or soft cheeses. Baked, sautéed or roasted chicken, pork or veal prepared with savory herbs, tomatoes, garlic or shallots bring out the best in these wines.

  • Kermit Lynch Domaine de la Voûte des Crozes Côte-de-Brouilly

  • Winemaker Nicole Chanrion is one of the few women to break the glass ceiling of the French winemaking world.  She grew up helping her father in both the vineyards and cellar in the Beaujolais cru of Côte-de-Brouilly.  Now she’s known as “La Patronne (boss) de la Côte”!  Her wine, born of the bluish colored granite soils and volcanic rock of the area, is deliciously light and fruity with gorgeous aromas of raspberries, cherries, strawberries and a touch of cinnamon.  Chill this wine ever so slightly and enjoy it with any poultry (especially roast chicken—a classic pairing!).
