    town of Jerez—near Cadiz—comes
    this extremely rare red wine. Tintilla is
    a grape thought to have been lost to
    phylloxera 100 years ago, but star
    Spanish winemaker Alberto Orte
    recovered a few cuttings, and by using
    the ‘Thumb and Caine’ pruning system,
    Vara Y Pulgar was born! Bright and
    beautiful on the nose with delicious red
    fruit, its completely dry palate has size,
    but not weight—and is an absolutely
    refreshing and resplendent wine.
    Lovely with lunch, grilled fish, or simply
    to swirl and sip!
