  • Built in the 11th Century, Castello di Volpaia looks over the town of Radda in Chianti.  For 900 years, this property has been producing wine, and with Frederica Stianti running the operation, the accolades are growing (Female winemakers—especially in Italy—are extremely rare).  Taking its name from the local term for a ‘young boy,’ Citto is a fresh, youthful style wine that showcases fruit and flexibility.  With no oak the nose is bright yet the tannins are strong.  Pair it with meaty pastas, pork, or hearty winter vegetables.
