  • From the Atlantic northwest of Spain, here is a red that’s not too heavy and not too light…it’s juuuuust right! The mencía grape grows all across this region, and is delicious because it ripens early and creates a deep-colored wine with low acidity. A beautiful fresh nose of clean red fruit (especially strawberry) and no oak, the palate on this wine is juicy but dry, with silky tannins and a nice lengthy finish. Drink this on its own, or pair it chorizo, roast pork, or spicy foods.
