Montepulciano (the region, not to be confused with the grape from Abruzzo) is known for its Vino Nobile, which brings lots of complexity and a price tag to match. Imagine this luxury accessible to everyone by changing some restrictions and the name, and you get this bottle right here. Also, it is made with pied de cuve, which is the yeast naturally created beforehand using early-harvested sangiovese grapes and used in the fermentation of the late-harvested grapes. Nine months of aging (6 in oak, 3 in bottle) brings aromas of sweet spices, and a palate of raspberry, strawberry, blackberry, and a balsamic aftertaste. Pair this with cannelloni or baked pasta with red sauce and you’re golden!
