Since the 1400s, the indigenous grapes Hondarribi Zuri and Hondarribi Beltza of the Basque region of northeast Spain have been made into a spritzy, dry wine called Txakolina. Especially popular among fishermen (they sometimes trade their catch for barrels to have at sea!), demand has expanded around the globe, making it one of Spain’s most sought-after styles. With all-estate fruit, this wine is dry, slightly fizzy, and completely fabulous with bright berry fruit and a hint of herbs. Great with richer seafood dishes!
