Famous, of course, for its elegant and fruity red wines made from Gamay Noir, only 2% of Beaujolais’ wines are actually white. Located at the southern end of Burgundy (just below the Mâconnais) with plenty of sun and little risk of frost, Beaujolais is a prime place to make Chardonnay. The Bernard Vallette is bright on the nose with aromas of pear and yellow apple. The palate is beautifully balanced from time spent on the lees, which gives heft and elegance. Fabulously food-friendly, it goes great with poultry, fish, or simply on its own!
