Red wines from the Loire are always a treat! Known for whites (Chenin and Sauvignon Blanc), the Loire’s cool yet sunny climate and rich limestone soils also make it an ideal home for vibrant and expressive reds! Here we have Grolleau—a lighter cousin to the heftier Cab Franc. More similar to Gamay, it possesses a bright, cheery nose of raspberry, and a light body that finishes fresh and dry. Aged in stainless steel tanks, it’s wonderful with a chill, and it goes great with lighter salads (especially with seafood) or spicy meals like curry!
