Côtes du Rhône Villages is a step up in quality from generic Côtes du Rhône wines. And when a village’s name is attached, that’s an indication of even greater distinction (before you get to the expensive stuff like Gigondas, etc). Cairanne is the best of those villages, and the Brusset offers exceptional value. Beautiful with round black current, a brambly, earthy nose, and a spicy palate. Aged 10 months, 30% in used oak, the palate is balanced with silky tannins. Perfect for a homemade meatloaf, barbecued chicken, or to drink on its own!
