Did you know that “Picpoul” in local dialect means “lip stinger”? And would you like to guess why? You got it – that lovely streak of acidity will make your mouth water. Fresh aromas of green apple, pineapple and florals swing together and dance on the palate while the balance of fresh acidity, fruit and minerality make it all come together quite nicely. Sometimes referred to as the Muscadet of the south, the picpoul pairs perfectly with fresh oysters, shellfish or a green salad drizzled with a citrus dressing.
