Sancerre has become known worldwide for the beautiful white wines that are produced in the region (though it is also known for its marvelous reds!). Here we have a lovely wine from Domaine Gérard Maudry, harvested from vines grown in the Silex vineyards, which are known for their flinty soils. The result is a Sauvignon Blanc that is beautifully refreshing, with expressive minerality and citrus notes. The body gains structure from 5 months of lees aging and a lingering finish. Try pairing with seafood dishes, roast chicken, or a cheese board with pâté.
