In the ancient world, Campania (located in southwest Italy, its capital being Naples) was home to some of the most renowned wines of Italy, if not of the whole Mediterranean. Despite its southern location, it’s known for its white wines (the warm days are mitigated by the high elevation), and Falanghina is its signature. Clean and fresh with a soft whisper of herbs on the nose, the palate is lovely with aspects of apricot and dried pineapple. Have this with scallops, clams, or baked tomatoes topped with herbs.
