It’s often been said that if Barolo is the “King” of Italian Wines, then Barbaresco is the “Queen!” Located only 15 miles from each other, both styles are made from 100% nebbiolo and require over two years of aging; yet unlike Barolo, Barbaresco tends to be slightly more graceful while serving what is often described as brooding power. Beautiful on the nose with dark fruit and rose petals, the palate is robust yet regal, with a full body and gripping tannins on the finish. This regal red is delicious with braised meats, mushroom risotto, or blue cheese.
