The Rovero family has been producing wines and distillates on their property in Asti since the late 1800's. They pioneered organic farming in the Piedmont in the 1980s, receiving certification for grapes in 1992 and, later, for the entire farm production. The estate is the same one where our Barbera D'Asti Cantina del Lupo comes from.
Amarovero has its name for being a true (vero) amaro, meaning it was made according to an original recipe from the Rovero family. Aromatic herbs are carefully selected and infused in neutral alcohol. These include Cinchona bark, licorice root, roasted coffee beans, peppermint leaves, star anise, fennel seeds, black pepper, nutmeg, bitter orange peels, coriander seeds, lemon balm leaves, and Angelica root.
