In the region of the Langhe, surrounding well known sub regions like Barolo and Barbaresco, one of Italy’s oldest, finest, and perhaps most overlooked white grape is grown: Arneis! The vines at Cordero di Montezemolo have been producing grapes since 1340. Some things have changed in 700 years such as farming practices, use of native yeasts and wine making practices, but the terroir and local traditions stay true. Pretty with perfume of peach and chamomile, this arneis is a perfect companion for a carbonara, seafood starters or any creamy cheese.
