French sparkling wine made using the traditional method, but not from Champagne, is called Crémant—and just south of Champagne in Burgundy, one can find beautiful bubbly for a share of the price of Champagne! The Fichet family has been producing wine in Burgundy since 1971. Their Crémant is made from 100% Chardonnay and shows lemon and white flowers on the nose. The palate is pretty, with pear and apple, and a marvelous mousse of bubbles that will leave you licking your lips for more!
