Just north of Chinon, on the far bank of the Loire River, lies Bourgueil. Perhaps less known than its neighbor to the south, Bourgueil is a prime area for delicious Cabernet Franc. With grapes from 50-year-old vines and a touch of bottle age, this wine is a true winner! A fresh nose of red fruits and signs of carbonic maceration, this wine has good, integrated tannins and has benefited from its time in the bottle. This is clearly a food wine, with balanced acidity, ideal for Thanksgiving turkey or duck breast. C’est parfait!
