Sericaia is a project from winemaker Sonia Martins, who sought out vineyards with high potential in the mountainous region of Serra de São Mamede in Alentejo, Portugal. The high altitude of this area helps give wonderful structure and character to the Sericaia wines. This red blend is bold in body, showing aromas of black plums, blueberries, and a hint of toffee. The palate is full, with soft tannins from 9 months of aging in French oak (mix of new and used). This wine is the perfect pair with richly seasoned meat or pappardelle smothered in a meaty red sauce!
