The Lyrarakis Estate was founded in 1966 by brothers Manolis and Sotiris Lyrarakis. It is surrounded by the Lassithi mountains and focuses on rare local varieties and single-variety wines. This light-bodied red is made from Liatiko, a thin-skinned grape native to the island of Crete, which is a short name word for “July” due to its early ripening period. Fermented in stainless steel tanks, there are aromas of wild berries and lilac. The palate is juicy and clean, and perfect with a chill. Enjoy it with grilled fish, baked chickpeas, or spanakopita!
